High school, transfer portal and college baseball recruiting services.

Why we exist

Most recruiting services sell exposure: pay for the package, post on the platform, hope a coach finds you. The reality of college baseball recruiting is the opposite, relationships drive commits, and exposure without an honest divisional-fit conversation is a tax on family savings.

Total Sports Recruiting was built by coaches who have run the recruiting calendar from both sides, as players, as travel ball coaches, and as college recruiters. We help families build real recruiter-to-recruiter relationships, build target lists that respect the player and the family budget, and navigate the transfer portal and summer-league calendars that actually move the needle. Texas-anchored, nationwide travel, and one recruiter per family from skills-video edit through commit.

What we do, plainly

We place services listed below for United States-based businesses. Most engagements are scoped, written down, and run by the same partner from intake to onboarding follow-up. We staff permanent, contract, contract-to-hire and retained according to the niche.

The roles we cover most often:

  • Skills Video Edits: Game and showcase footage edited into a recruiter-ready 4-6 minute reel. Slow-motion mechanics breakdowns where useful.
  • Individual Exposure Plans: A 12-month written plan: showcases to attend, camps to enter, when to email which coach, follow-up cadence.
  • Target-School Outreach: Custom target list (reach / match / safety) by division, region and academic fit. We send the email, you build the relationship.
  • Transfer Portal Strategy: Calendar planning for the December and May portal windows, video refresh, coach outreach and tampering navigation.
  • Summer League Placement: Roster spots on Texas Collegiate, Northwoods, MINK, Florida Collegiate and select 18U summer programs.
  • Recruiting Profile & PR: A clean recruiting profile page with stats, academics, video, references and contact info that coaches can pass around the staff.
  • College Camps & Showcases: Calendar of recommended college-run camps and Perfect Game / PBR / Prep Baseball showcases by region and class.
  • Mechanics Review: Pitching, hitting and infield mechanics breakdowns. We loop in private instructors where useful but never sell instruction we can’t deliver in-house.
  • Mock Interviews: Mock coach calls and visit prep. The first phone call with a head coach is not the place to practise.
  • Academic Strategy: Test-score and GPA targeting, NCAA and NAIA Eligibility Centre registration, walk-on vs scholarship slot fit.
  • Letters of Intent: Offer-letter review, scholarship-percentage negotiation, NLI signing-day support, written-vs-verbal commit guidance.
  • Parent Coaching: Helping parents step back appropriately during recruitment without losing the support role only they can play.

How we vet

Every candidate goes through:

  • Right-to-work / work-authorisation confirmed before introduction
  • References (current and previous) where available, and background-check readiness
  • Current location, time zone, in-office expectation, and shift fit where applicable
  • Total comp expectations in USD, with realistic on-target bonus or commission where applicable
  • Notice period, start-date realism, competing offers in flight
  • Discipline-specific technical or operational screen as the niche requires
  • Behavioural / cultural-fit interview tailored to the role and the hiring manager’s standards
  • For senior or leadership roles: scoped case discussions and backchannel references where useful

Who we work for

Our clients span founder-led businesses, scale-ups, PE-backed companies, mid-market and Fortune-relevant employers in our niche. We work with hiring managers, owners, MDs and HR leads who would rather invest 45 minutes in a good intake than three weeks cleaning up a bad one.

How we think about a placement

A successful placement is not a signed offer letter. It is the moment six months later when the new hire is still there, the team trusts them, and the manager has stopped thinking about replacement. That is the only outcome that matters to us, and the only one we measure ourselves against.

Our values, the short version

  • Niche-led screening, always. If we cannot articulate why a candidate matches the bar, we do not send the résumé.
  • Tell the truth. If the comp band is light or the brief is unrealistic, we say so before sourcing.
  • One partner, end to end. Same person from intake to onboarding follow-up.
  • Confidentiality is default. No naming, no leaks, no surprises with competing employers.
  • Stand behind the work. Free replacement on every permanent placement. No clawback games.
